The Center Township Small Claims Court will sponsor a “Kids at Court” program beginning January 2007.  The Court invite a local middle school or high school class to observe the court’s proceedings during a designated Friday court setting.  The class size is limited to 30 students.  A case will be identified that may be of interest to young students who visit the court on that day.  The case will usually require more than 30 minutes and include more than one witness. The case will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the class should arrive by 9:30 a.m.  The students will be invited to have a brief discussion session with the judge at the conclusion of the trial.  The Court estimates the trial and discussion session will end by 12:00 noon. 

If an attorney would like to have his or her case set on a designated Friday court setting for the “Kids at Court” program, please return a completed “Attorney Form” to the Court.

If a teacher would like his or her class to participate in the “Kids at Court” program, please return a completed “Class Form” to the Court.
